Community Empowerment

Our community has endured the test of time through a diverse array of transformative programs, each thoughtfully crafted to uplift, empower, and address the evolving needs of our people. Rooted in shared values and mutual support, these initiatives embody our enduring commitment to unity and progress. As we often affirm with pride, the North West community is far more than an association — it is a true home away from home, where belonging, purpose, and cultural pride thrive harmoniously.

Community Education Series

CES is a program dedicated to educating members on essential life skills. Over the years, we have focused on empowering our community through topics such as culture, personal finance, effective communication, presentation skills, relationships, marriage, real estate, taxes, insurance, and more

Career and Business Conference

Our community is a hub for esteemed professionals and entrepreneurs from diverse sectors who are making a significant impact on the Canadian economy.
Each year, we host a career and business conference designed to foster the exchange of industry insights, facilitate meaningful conversations, and provide mentorship. The event also supports newcomers as they navigate promising career paths, launch business ventures, and manage the complexities of professional and entrepreneurial life.

The Kids Corner

At the North West community, we believe our children are the foundation of a brighter future. That’s why we are deeply committed to nurturing them through carefully designed programs that go beyond academics. Our initiatives focus on teaching cultural heritage, strong moral values, and ethical principles—empowering the next generation with the knowledge, character, and confidence they need to thrive. We aim to equip our youth with the tools to lead with purpose and make a lasting impact.

New Comers Orientation

Our association is dedicated to empowering newcomers—particularly refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants from African communities—by providing comprehensive settlement and integration support. We assist individuals in adapting to Canadian life through tailored programs focused on employment, housing, language support, and community orientation. Our services include resume and document preparation, job search guidance, and referrals for health and legal assistance. We also host workshops on vital topics such as healthcare, financial literacy, and education. Additionally, we offer specialized programs for refugees and Black youth, emphasizing trauma-informed care, personal development, and career advancement. Through these efforts, we foster inclusion, independence, and long-term success for all newcomers.

Month Meetings

Every second Saturday of the month, our community gathers to connect, share updates, and discuss key current issues shaping our association’s future. It’s a time to exchange ideas, strengthen bonds, and enjoy the warmth of togetherness over a hearty meal featuring some of the North West’s finest traditional dishes — a true blend of purpose, culture, and unity.
